Student Mission Trip 2027

For the fourth summer, Pleasant Ridge is heading back to the “Gateway to the West”—St. Louis, Missouri! In partnership with Send Relief and the George Liele Center, our team will return to North St. Louis County to serve alongside local missionaries, churches, and ministry partners who are working year-round to meet needs, build relationships, and share the hope of the gospel throughout their communities.

What will you do?

Every year in St. Louis looks a little different because our goal is to serve wherever our ministry partners need us most. In previous years, our teams have served through community outreach, children's ministry, Vacation Bible School, food distribution and meal preparation, neighborhood events, construction and renovation projects, landscaping, and projects supporting local missionaries and churches. Whether you have experience in construction and building trades, enjoy working with children, love serving behind the scenes, or simply come ready to work, there is a place for you on this team. No special skills or previous mission-trip experience are required—just a willingness to serve.

But our week in St. Louis is about more than completing projects. Send Relief missions are designed to help us build meaningful relationships with the people we serve and to equip us to live on mission when we return home. As we learn to serve faithfully alongside missionaries in St. Louis, our desire is to bring those lessons back to Hueytown—to become more aware of the needs around us, more intentional about being present in our community, and more prepared to share the love and hope of Jesus with our neighbors. After four summers, St. Louis has become more than somewhere we go to serve. It is a place where relationships continue to grow, where we have seen God at work, and where we are excited to serve again.

As we prepare for St. Louis 2027, additional trip details and resources will be made available to participants and families. Be sure to check back here throughout the year for updates as we get closer to departure. Fundraising Opportunities

We will offer two primary fundraising opportunities to help offset the cost of the trip. Our goal is for fundraising to help cover approximately 50% of the trip cost for participants.

Information coming soon will include details about fundraising opportunities, payment amounts and deadlines, and prayer resources to help our church family intentionally pray for the team and the communities we will serve. Registered participants and parents will also receive a Participant & Parent Packet with specific trip information, including travel plans, packing lists, lodging, daily expectations, required forms, emergency information, and other important details for the week.

Our goal is to make preparing for the mission trip as simple and clear as possible. Important dates, documents, and resources will be added to this page as they become available, so participants and parents can use it as the central location for everything they need for St. Louis 2027.
