About the event

The student ministry has hosted a week of Spring Break events for the last 7 years. Each year, we provide students with opportunities to spend time with their friends and their church. Over these 8 years, one event has risen to the occasion as the most anticipated spring break event—camping. The student ministry and our team of adult volunteers will travel to Oak Mountain State Park on Monday, March 23 at 12:30 pm and return the afternoon of March 25. These days will be full of community, games, campfires, conversations, and food.

The cost: $30 (This covers camp fees, food, and supplies.)

Payments can be made in person or online.

In addition to camping on Wednesday, March 25 we will host a movie night at the church. This will take place during the regular scheduled service times. Doors will open at 5:00p and the movie will start at 5:30p. Dinner will be provided, but we encourage students to bring their own snacks because everyone has their own movie snack vibe.

Movie Night

Location: Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church

Date: March 25

Time: 5:00-7:30ish

Because of democracy, we will offer three movies to the heathens and they will fairly decide by whatever means possible (except death) which movie will be played. Examples of movies that will not be featured at Spring Break are:

  • Boss Baby

  • Also, any movie featuring belly buttons or feet.

  • Sharknado (this includes the 2nd-6th movie)

  • The 2000 film directed by Vic Sarin, Left Behind, starring Kirk Cameron

  • The Remastered version of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (the original 1983 version is acceptable)

  • Paranormal Activity (because spirits are scary; except the third person of the Trinity; the Holy one)

  • The entire Frozen franchise (it's time to let it go....)

  • Jumanji (because why would anyone read the instructions and still want to play that game)

Multi-Church Kickball

Location: Bud Newell Football Field

Date: March 26

Time: 5:00-8:30ish

We have organized the third annual Kickball tourney for Spring Break. I've heard a few more churches will be present and another installment of James Hosmer's Podcast will air.
