About the event
March 20-21, 2026, volunteers like you will care for hurting communities in Birmingham, Alabama, by serving local churches, bivocational pastors, low-income schools and other organizations needing assistance. Projects may include light construction, painting, landscaping and hosting sports camps or block parties.
By partnering with the Alabama Baptist Convention, Shelby Baptist Association, and Birmingham Metro Association, Send Relief is making it easy for you and your team to have a lasting impact on the lives of Birmingham’s most vulnerable.
What is the Send Relief Serve Tour?
The Serve Tour, in partnership with churches, associations, your state convention,
and Send Relief seeks to inspire Southern Baptists across North America to engage
in compassion ministry by providing opportunities for churches to participate in
ministry projects in one specific city. The goal of the Serve Tour is to be the vehicle
through which churches demonstrate the love of Christ in the city by engaging
in compassion ministry.
How long is the Serve Tour?
The Serve Tour will take place over the course of 2 days – Friday and Saturday.
Volunteers have the opportunity to come and serve projects taking place just one
day or both. For an example schedule:
What types of service or projects will we be doing?
The project types will vary based on the ministry hub location and the project that
you register for. These can range anywhere from light construction to community
outreach.
