About the event

Series Summary: The apostle Peter, one of the original twelve disciples, writes to a large audience of Christians scattered over roughly 300,000 square miles (1 Pet. 1:1). The content of his letter is to encourage Christians experiencing extreme persecution to persevere in faith and hope. While encouragement is perhaps Peter’s desire, he expects Christians to persevere confidently. Since persecution can tempt God’s people to become shy and timid, Peter calls Christians to join him and others as bold and faithful witnesses for Christ. After Jesus ascended to Heaven, Peter’s ministry began in Jerusalem. The consequences of his ministry resulted in arrests and hardship, but his response was to pray for God to allow him to continue to speak the Word boldly (Acts 4:29). Today, Christians must heed God’s instruction delivered to us through the apostle Peter by confidently persevering and sharing God’s Word boldly.
